How does a typical day for a software test engineer working at Cetasol look?A typical day for me at Cetasol revolves around setting up and refining our testing processes. I’m heavily involved in creating and maintaining automated tests to ensure they catch potential issues early in the development cycle. My day often includes writing new test cases, updating existing ones and troubleshooting any issues that arise with the automation framework. I also collaborate closely with the development team to integrate these tests into our CI/CD pipeline, ensuring our software maintains high quality as it evolves.

What are you currently working on?Currently, my focus is on setting up robust testing processes, creating automated test suites, and maintaining the automation framework. The goal is to ensure that Cetasol’s software consistently meets the highest quality standards as we expand. This involves developing test strategies for new features, automating repetitive test cases, and refining our testing infrastructure to support the growing complexity of our product.

How do you think working in a startup differs from other companies?Working in a startup like Cetasol offers a unique environment where it’s easier to form close-knit relationships with colleagues. The small, agile nature of the company allows for more direct communication and collaboration, which enhances the sense of ownership and impact on the product. Unlike larger companies where roles can be more compartmentalized, in a startup, there’s much more room for creativity, innovation, and personal contribution, making the work both challenging and rewarding.

What do you like most about working on iHelm and CetaFuel? What I enjoy most about working on iHelm and CetaFuel is the opportunity to tackle complex challenges and see the direct impact of our solutions in action. The fast pace and innovation involved in these projects keep me engaged and constantly learning.

What do you like most about working at Cetasol? What I like most about working at Cetasol is the richness of diversity, which brings a broad spectrum of perspectives to our work. This diversity cultivates a deep camaraderie, creating an environment where innovative thinking is encouraged and supported. It’s a place where you can confidently propose ideas that drive the company forward while fueling your personal and professional growth.

What do you like about being a software test engineer? What I enjoy most about being a software test engineer is the dynamic nature of the role, every day brings a new challenge, whether it’s interacting with different stakeholders or finding creative ways to break the software. It’s not just about identifying flaws but also about being deeply involved in crafting the solutions that make the product stronger. The ever-changing tasks keep the work exciting, as no two days are ever the same, yet the core mission of ensuring top-quality software remains constant.

Did you always know you wanted to work as a software test engineer? No, I didn’t always know I wanted to work as a software test engineer. I knew I wanted to work in a role that involved organization, structure, and planning because those aspects have always resonated with me. But I clearly remember the moment I was first introduced to testing, the thrill of finding my first defect was when I realized that this was the path I wanted to follow. That sense of discovery and the impact of my work on the overall quality of a product made it clear that software testing was the perfect fit for me.

      Thank you Grace!
