Cetasol Named ETP Champion 2026
We are proud to announce that Cetasol has been named an ETP Champion 2026 in the category Innovations for Energy Transition in Fishing Operations during European Maritime Day in Limassol, Cyprus. The award recognises solutions that are already delivering measurable results in reducing fuel consumption, emissions and energy use across Europe's fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
The Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) Champions initiative was launched by the European Commission to highlight practical, market-ready solutions that help accelerate the energy transition within the maritime sector. Projects were evaluated based on their innovation, scalability, real-world impact and contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
About the ETP Champions Initiative
The Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) Champions programme, led by the European Commission, recognises innovative solutions that help accelerate the energy transition in fisheries and aquaculture.
Cetasol was selected as an ETP Champion 2026 in the category Innovations for Energy Transition in Fishing Operations, highlighting the role of data-driven vessel optimisation in reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

Why Cetasol Was Selected
Cetasol was recognised for its intelligent vessel management platform, iHelm, which helps vessel operators reduce fuel consumption and emissions through real-time operational guidance.
By combining onboard data, vessel performance information and advanced analytics, iHelm provides crews with clear recommendations that support more efficient vessel operation without disrupting daily operations.
According to the European Commission's ETP Champions announcement, the solution has already demonstrated measurable energy savings in real operational conditions and can be deployed without additional hardware requirements, making it accessible for a wide range of vessel types and operators.
Turning Data Into Action
Many vessels already generate large amounts of operational data every day. The challenge is often not collecting the data, but transforming it into actionable decisions.
Cetasol's approach focuses on helping crews understand how operational choices affect fuel consumption, emissions and overall vessel efficiency. Small adjustments in speed profiles, throttle usage and voyage planning can have a significant impact over time.
Rather than relying on complex retrofits or expensive equipment upgrades, iHelm enables operators to start improving efficiency using data that is already available onboard.
Supporting the Maritime Energy Transition
The maritime industry is facing increasing pressure to reduce emissions while maintaining profitability and operational reliability. Fuel costs remain one of the largest operational expenses for vessel operators, making efficiency improvements critical for both economic and environmental performance.
The ETP Champions programme was created to showcase solutions that help address these challenges today, not years into the future. By recognising proven technologies and operational innovations, the initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of practical energy transition measures across Europe.
Looking Ahead
Being named an ETP Champion 2026 is an important milestone for Cetasol, but it is also a reflection of the growing momentum behind data-driven vessel optimisation.
As the maritime sector continues its transition toward lower emissions and greater efficiency, we remain committed to helping operators make better operational decisions, reduce fuel consumption and improve sustainability through practical, scalable technology.
The energy transition is already underway. We are proud to be part of it.
