We want to make sustainability a simple choice.
We want to make sustainability a simple choice.
To reach sustainability and to make the world more sustainable, we are working toward several global goals and strategies.
It is important to think about sustainability in the marine sector. Marin transport stands for 3% of global emissions every year. A reduction in emissions will have a positive impact on life both in the ocean and on land. When it comes to optimizing energy consumption, it is important to understand the current use of energy. According to IMO there is a possibility to reduce up to 75% of emissions with extensive speed control.

We are working toward the global UN goals.
The United Nations has proclaimed a Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) to support efforts to reverse the cycle of decline in ocean health and gather ocean stakeholders worldwide behind a common framework that will ensure ocean science can fully support countries in creating improved conditions for sustainable development of the Ocean.

Goal 11, sustainable cities and communities.
99% of the urban population breathes polluted air.
Reducing emissions is therefore important and
crucial, no matter where it happens.
Goal 13, climate action.
CO2 emissions have increased 6% in the year 2021,
which shows the importance of reducing emissions
going forward. The 6% increase is the highest increase ever,
meaning that the emissions are the highest yet.
The time to act and reduce emissions is now.

Goal 14, Life below water.
The largest ecosystem on the planet is
in the ocean and the ocean absorbs 25%
of the global yearly emissions.
In order to save life below water,
the emissions need to be reduced now.

We are working toward the IMO strategies.
International Maritime Organization (IMO) member states have been debating on a global pricing regime for GHG emissions from shipping for more than 15 years. And some industry players believe their failure to reach any conclusion contributed to the slow decarbonization process of maritime transportation, which accounts for 2-3% of the world’s annual total.

IMO have a strategy of reducing CO2 emission from marine transport by at least 40% to the year 2030, and 70% to the year 2050 when compared to the reference year 2008. We are working toward the IMO strategies as well.
